Why Psychoanalysis / Psychotherapy?

Whether discomfort is experienced in the form of stress, depression, anger, phobias, psychosomatic symptoms or chronic lack of pleasure.

Physical pain, symptoms or dysfunctions such as eating and sleeping disorders, bowel syndromes, sexual difficulties or recurrent accidents are some of the ways individuals experience the parts of the self that are neglected, repressed, traumatised or in conflict.

What is  Psychoanalysis / Psychotherapy?

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy originates from psychoanalysis and it is guided by the same theories. It is a therapeutic process based on the understanding of inner causes of disorder. It is different from most other therapies in that it aims for deep-seated work with the psychical economy, affecting changes in personality and emotional development.

Online Sessions

Psychotherapy online is therapy provided via the Internet with the use of camera and the available platform eg. teams, whatsApp etc.

It is a relatively new approach, provided in accordance with the changes and demands of modern life and in cases where:

  • no psychoanalytic therapist is accessible within reasonable distance

  • the client needs to frequently travel for work or other commitments

  • the nature of mental difficulties experienced is such that leaving the house and/or travelling is inhibited

  • there are other reasons for house confinement

Online sessions can be decided for the whole duration of therapy, for some part of it, or whenever needed to enhance treatment continuity.

I have given online sessions for the last 16 years and I have complete confidence that, although there are certain differences in the experience , the results are absolutely satisfactory, comparable to therapy in the room.

Teams address and other details for online sessions will be provided at your request via email.
